Roller Shades

Solar shades are designed to control the sunlight and heat penetrating a window. Depending on the location and the needs of the client, the amount of solar control can vary substantially.

We offer a choice of hundreds of fabrics that will meet the needs for managing sunlight at a given location – for both interior and exterior systems. We also have a large array of manual and motorized control systems. You can link motorized systems with sunlight, heat, and other sensors, allowing for automated operation of the systems.

Privacy shades allow you to control the view from the outside in. The challenge is to create a solution that shields your space from prying eyes without compromising your ability to have an unobstructed view of the outside world.

An entire category of roller shades is created specifically for locations where privacy is a concern, and today these are the solutions of choice for enhancing privacy in both commercial and residential settings.

Diffusing or filtering daylight isn’t always enough – some solar control situations call for substantially blocking light from a room. Window treatments designed to darken rooms are often referred to generically as “blackout” shades. Manufacturers of window treatment systems and fabrics classify them as “room darkening,” “blackout” or “light-tight” shades based on the amount of light they block.

Room darkening shades can substantially reduce the amount of sunlight or exterior light in a room or interior space, but they do not offer the level of light blocking of either blackout or light-tight shades. Manufacturers often use these term “room darkening” to indicate greater light filtering capability than a semi-opaque material. The degree of openness of the fabric and its weave determine how much light is blocked. We have more than 50 different types of room darkening fabrics to choose from, and we can help clients select the perfect type for the degree of darkening they want, based on location, amount of exterior light and other factors.
